19 Quiz night

No more Chinese.
If there are
not enough students.
Eye openers
to young and old.
Ever known all the answers.
Eye openers to see
nursery rhymes

jotted down so easily.
United we stand, the winning team.
Nice a cosy evening, picking up
evermore knowledge.

18 a noisy night

Escaping
in winter,
Gone to bed.
Having a read.
Thirty minutes before
enduring a night of
explicable
noise, a coughing partner.

Jacuzzi noises, wheezing
unwelcome when sleep is
not coming. Tired but not
enviable, finally dreams take over.

17 Ronald McDonald

Show at school for
everyone in year 1-3.
Victorious Ronald
encounters a problem
now one sock is lost.
Two is what he wants. It
exists somewhere,
escaped with the wind.
Needs to click his belt.

Jolly, it's better to walk.
unseen cars, watch out.
Not walk, but stop look and listen.
Every driveway is a danger.

15 FR - AB

France lost 0 - 30
in with heads and shoulders.
Fighting for a try
The All Blacks won.
Embracing a good scrum.
Energy went up in steam.
No, no try's this time.

Jumping at the line out.
Under pressure kicks,
not one went in
even after 30 phases.

14 retrieve information

Former students
or projects at school.
Retrieving information
to show at the jubilee.
Everyone should ask around.
Emptying their archives.
Never mind what it looks like.

Jotting memories
uncovering the past.
News to put together
eventually on screen or board.

13 picnic videos

To have a picnic,
homemade and fake
in the classroom.
Remanding her to not eat
the plastic meat or cheese.
Eager to try she is.
Easily distracted as well,
neglecting tips to look.

Jubilee preparation
unrecognizable children.
Notice to watch them at home
enabling to choose what to copy.

12 teacher aide

Twinkle twinkle little star, how I
wonder where you are.
Everyday we sang it
last year. Now it's
voiced maybe twice a month.
Eyes looking here, pointing

jotting down in the book.
Under the table, pick it up.
Now we follow the girls, this way
end of the line, touch it. Well done.

11 minutes

Enclosed are the minutes
left to sign after printing.
Ensured the changes are made.
Volunteer committee
efficient to rule.
Nearly every month a repetition

jotted down on paper.
Undecided, more  to check up.
Nomination, resignation too quick
escaping more confrontation?

10 early, dozing

Trip to airport to pick up the family.
Eagerly coming back after a month.
Nice and early, straight in, back home.

Jealous of all the stories, where they'd been.
Unrest to see and cuddle the cats.
No sleeping I told them, avoid getting jet lag.
Expecting and finding dad and kids asleep.

9 taken the van home

Now getting the van
in the afternoon.
No need to do it tomorrow.
End stop at my house.

Jet plane already
underway here.
Not on the phone till tomorrow
early announced online.

7 fight R.I.P.

School assembly
engaging principal.
Vulnerable children,
everyone listening.
No comment to journalists.

Jealous fight,
under attack.
N,o a heart attack
embracing afterlife.

6 show

Show in the hall.
Ingenious ladies.
Xtravagant acting

Jolly audience
under the influence.
Needing to point with
endless screams.
.

5 pee, time out

Fiza did another pee
in the classroom.
Vulnerability maybe,
enthusiasm not likely

Jolly ignorance.
Understand that being
naughty is no good.
Ending in time out.

4 leaking toilet roof

Frenzy

Undercover
reliably dry.

Jinxed
underneath
never stopping drip.
End is near, rain all winter.

3 wrong house

To see my friends house.
Haven't seen her for months.
Reconnecting, I look younger?
Escape to the forest, not happy.
Entering a new suburb, unknown.

Jeopardised by a decision made
under depression drugs.
Not happy where she is.
Escape to another, to become flatmate?

2 family and dog

To be invited for dinner.
We are the first to arrive.
Over for a meal of curried sausages.

Jolly conversations
uniting family memories.
Now they all want a dog
escaping to the garage to wee.

1 hot fire

On time to order.
Nice warm spa, avoiding the smokers.
everyone together under the heat.

Jacking up the fire wood,
underneath the paper, a match.
Nimble beginnings, fanning the
embers, and away it goes.

31 daily thought

Maybe, writing daily is
a good way to get going.
Yet a few words a day

take some thought.
Hard as it is with these
initial letters. Starting a
reminder what happened
today. Shall I pencil this?
Yep that will do. A memorable
occurrence, worthy
noting down. An
experience to be shared.

29 operation, when?

MRI and X-ray show what's wrong.
An operation needed.
Yikes, not sure about this.

Twice 6 weeks of carefully
working with my right arm.
Ending the pain would be
nice. Wait and see how long it
takes, to get approval.
Y 3 months? seems to be the time
necessary to decide
if ACC will take responsibility.
Never been paid wages by them,
even if I was in pain.

28 cold snap

Magical hail
a few times today.
Yesterday they warned

there'd be a cold  snap.
Well it was 6 degrees.
Even in the house it got to 12.
Night night, with a cold nose,
tightly cocooned, snuggly warm
Yes, nothing better to stay in bed
escaping reality with a good book.
Inside cuddled up, a cat on the foot end
grumpy sister beside me on the shelf.
Harassing me, purring next to my ear and
trying to get under the duvet.

Wednesday, May 29, 2013

27 MRI

Maybe they can find out what hurts.
An MRI on my shoulder.
You never know, but you can find out.

To investigate, muscle testing, physio.
Waisted muscle, rebuilding
exercises for days and months.
Not helping much, a little progress.
Though the pain still exists.
Yikes, a little less, can sleep on my side.
Some moves, trigger it unsuspected,
even if I avoid them, it happens.
Verifying the exact location.
Ensuring the problem will be solved.
Nasty chronicle, should be finalized.

26, a Pink Brunch

Meeting up for
a pink Breast Cancer Brunch
Yummy food, as usual.

Twenty choices
what shall I have?
Eggs- no, salmon- yes, to
name but a few.
Tasty it was,
yearning for more.
Shall I get more applecrumble?
I will, only one spoon full
Xtra after a cup of tea.

25, two decades ago

More birthdays ...
another decade older,
yearly, one day changes the digit.

Thirty, for me 20 years ago.
Where I was and what I did?
Escaping the twenties, although
not much difference
to my surroundings. Another
year, just keep going and
facing the future with a smile.
Inventing writing, playing sports
visiting friends, studying, in the
evening, falling asleep satisfied.

24 teeth treatment

Mout wash,
after dinner mints.
Yankees

treat their teeth
with respect,
end of story.
Never have I heard
that some desperate
Yank killed his dentist
for, the molars he
obtruded. Because
unknown to us all
regret became inner reflection.

23 training the brain

My brain is working,
acquiring long ago learned maths.
Yes, counting up the till total before

the paying needs to be done.
Wonder why many people can't.
Enduring school, a lack of practice.
No numerological interest maybe.
Training the brain is needed.
Yesterday would have been better to start,
the earlier the better. Full immersion
hop in at the deep end, swim to survive.
Recognising the need of
endless repeating, again and again, never
ending repetition or lack there of.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

22 sepcialist

More of the pain
again for a check up.
Yowza, no needle

this time. X-rays and MRI
Wednesday next week back.
Enough to find out what's
not right, we will see then and
there. She's walking without
yucky crutches. Not running.
The movie Gambit is a laugh
with good British humor.
Oh, how to rip of a millionaire

21, rubbish

Making sure the paper is out,
as well as the wheelie bin.
Yesterday I had it all ready

taken it to the curb for pick up.
Whatever happened to inorganic.
Endangered in most of the suburbs.
Not in the city, where it was last month.
To stick to the contract, we lost it
years ago, which is a shame.
One day I will get a skip in,
not yet, bit more sorting to do.
Everything has it's time

20 Country for old men

Many things to do, but
ain't doing them.
Yet another good book

to distract me.
Where the pages
entertain. Written in slang,
no nee to
translate. I'm easygoing
yes, I like the difference

19 Crumpet start

Mastering breakfast on Sunday with
a set of double toasted crumpets
yanking out the toaster in a cloud of smoke.

Not interested in getting up early.
In bed with a book, a reading cocoon.
Numbing pain, I wish,
excruciating when I turn, sometimes.
The not knowing when to
expect and on what level of the scale.
Eight and up, hardly ever not there.
Necessity of getting a cure, it wears me down

Saturday, May 18, 2013

18 forever sharp

Meandering a newish Red shed.
admiring the clean look and good stocked shelves.
Yearning to buy lots, but not following through.

Endless sharp knives
I bought to use in he kitchen.
Good to go we met up the new parent
Home is where daddy looks after the baby girl
Testing the cut on frozen food,
evidently the blade works.
Excited to see how easy it was.
No more problems

17 Black out

Mains are gone, no power
a Black Out, candles we used like
yesteryear but still happening in 2013

Stayed off for one and a half our.
Enabling it back on twice,
valid for only 1 to 2 minutes.
Energy as we know it, lost,
needing candle light to keep reading.
Too many people not noticing, asleep already.
Everyone will find their clocks of tilt, only if
equipped with a battery, they'll still be on time.
Nice to know lights work when you flick the switch.

16 sick tummy

My stomach gave me cramps
and then it was the toilet run.
Yet again, again and again.

Sickish, better to lie down
I'm wondering if I caught the bug
Xtending its life by passing it on?
To decide not meeting a foreign friend in town.
Expected it to be 6, started 5 so too late already.
Email him a not saying sorry, staying home, early to bed.
Not trusting the cramp and rumbling.

15 The outlander

Miracles happen whether in books or in
a dream overnight. Is it your mind connecting the dots?
Yearning to make sense and processing experience.

Feminine psychopathic creatures
invading the leading characters mind.
Finding books that are interesting
to read and that make you think.
Eluding her trackers, nearly dying,
endless chatter in her mind.
Neat writing by Gil Adamson

14 pencil charm

More kids are checking my necklaces
and making comments. That looks like a pencil.
Yes it does, it's a special stone.

Four different ones I wear.
One or 2 around my neck, 1
under the other. The stone is
round and brown, with a hole.
There is my black heart with a silver fern.
Even a golden horse on a short chain.
Emerald still to come, only if it's the right design.
Now to add something to the stainless chain.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

13 get furniture, fix car gaps

Making the last bits fit
and taking them home.
Yet another car full,

this time it's furniture,
half goes under the house.
In go the chairs from the garage.
Right made a way to get some kit,
to fix the gaps next to the window.
Easy to push out the tube,
easy to push flat, little shiny,
now it's watertight again.

Monday, May 13, 2013

12 nice sunny mother's day

Mother's day without my mum
a different experience.
Year 6 already.

Time flies, sun shines
waiting to sit in it.
Everyone says, no one does.
Let's do it myself.
Vexed about the mess inside,
exploiting the last sun rays outside,

Sunday, May 12, 2013

11 chocolate trifle, travel tales

Mustard on my bitter balls
and mayonaise on my french fries.
Yawning before going home.

Entertaining company,
laughing about travels.
Evoking comments
voluntary additions.
Enfolding a future
neither here nor there.

Saturday, May 11, 2013

10 test and pee

Mat time, to start, puzzle took forever.
A screech during the class, to test,
Y did you pee in your pants?

together in the hall,
excited seeing so many others.
No need to scratch your nits.

Thursday, May 9, 2013

9 my head is clear

Meandering, exploring
around the house.
Yes seeing what I put where.

Now trying to make sense of my hoarding.
Inside my head there is no chaos.
Not having enough space to do archiving,
everything has its place, need time to put it there.

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

8 another day without my car.

More taxi driving necessary
another day without my car.
Y did I not sell it, before getting these

expenses, WOF, alternator, belt and battery.
It seems a never ending merry
go round, fix and fix some more.
How long can this go on?
That's the question. When does it end?

7 family dinner

Making it happen
at the steakhouse
Yes, finally a family dinner

Shame Marieke was not there.
Everyone else was, keen to eat
very nice steaks, and fries or jacked potato.
Endless salad bar with sauces and a
nice drink, coffee after in Titirangi.

Monday, May 6, 2013

6 screeches were tested

Morning at school with
a trying to screech Fiza
You better not do that

Someone will say stop
Ignorance is not an option
Xylophone makes better noise

Sunday, May 5, 2013

5 dreams are miracles

Miracles in my mind,
a few dreams last night.
Yes I did remember this time.

Flying or beaming to get around.
In an instant somewhere else.
Very creative, where does it come from?
Either my conscious or unconscious

Saturday, May 4, 2013

4 rain all day

Miserable rain
a never stopping pain.
Yeah right, it started at night

full on, all day long, it never stopped.
Outside watching a soccer game
under the trees less droplets dropped.
Rude play, penalty, last minute loss, shame.

3 car and flooding

My battery charger is not working
and now I can't get to Titirangi
Y oh why after spending money

to get it fixed for my WOF.
Home at Mark's we find a flood
right from shower into office.
Every glass in the cupboard is filled.
Even the laundry is wet on the floor.

Friday, May 3, 2013

2 changed channels

My oh my the channels changed.
A few have gone up 10 or 20.
Yes it happened overnight.

There are some new ones too.
We'll check them out in due course.
Over time it will be second nature.

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

1 Willem Alexander without a uniform

Monarch without a crown.
Alexander and Maxima.
Yeah! for Beatrix and thanks.

Only the Dutch do it like this.
Not much in the Dutch news on Face.
Everybody with 3 fingers making a W.

30 Our last Queen's Birthday

Today our Queen abdicated
her eldest son became our King.
I've never met him, I did meet her.
Rolled up as one of the girls,
to dine at De Blauwe Stoep.
I think he will be a good monarch.
Ending 100 years reign of women.
The coronation, I haven't seen yet.
Her abdication we saw at Holland House.

A protocol to follow, reading it out, signatures,
posing and waving from the balcony.
Rule The Netherlands with an open mind
integrating all people, like your mother did.
Long live the King, hip hip hooray.

Monday, April 29, 2013

29 clothes bar

Taking out the roll containers
with the dehumidifier.
Elsewhere they
need to go.
The rotan bar is coming back
yonder on the side of the bed.
No more weathering,
inside where it used to be.
Now my clothes inside
the bar, some pillows down below.
Having space to put my cup

and a plate for breakfast.
Pippi has found a new spot.
Relaxing on my fleece
inside, able to see around.
Loud purring and then sleep.

Sunday, April 28, 2013

28 for a laugh

This morning the sun was shining
while we were reading our books.
Early awake, but late out of bed.
New book to start, mine was getting
to halfway. A smile to think comedy
yelps would be on the cards again.
Eating wedges
in the sun.
Getting our tickets,
having a laugh club instead of
the comedy out West.
Humor is good it keeps you healthy.

A laugh a day keeps the Doctor away.
Prolific, spontaneous hard out
rolling on the floor
in your face hysteria.
Later this month and on telly tonight.

Friday, April 26, 2013

27 Alexanders birthday

Today is a our future king's birthday.
Wondering what his age is, 52 maybe?
Everyone in The Netherlands is preparing.
Now it is 3 days before the coronation.
The counting down has begun and
yes, orange is getting hold of the country
Some people will protest,
every now and then there are eruptions
vein crowds, against the monarchy.
Esa here is pro monarchy,
need to celebrate so going
to town, for an outrageous night.
Hooray for the king.

Alexander, from Monday the monarch
presents today from your family. A new
Royal to lead the nation.
Impossible task? Not if you have been
lead by a great example, Queen Beatrix.

26 move the chest of drawers

Time to change the bedroom.
With the television on the foot
end, it makes more sense.
Now I can finally walk
towards my bedside. Over a
year I needed to crawl over.
Seeing how time flies
initiative was necessary.
Xpansion of the entrance,
taking the door out
helped. The chest of drawers

are now accessible.
Resting further away
is making the viewing
less straining. Well done.

25 ANZAC day

Australia New Zealand Army Corps a day of remembrance,
New Zealanders get a day of to think about the fallen soldiers and civilians.
Zing was in the step of the young, some left under
age, wanting to go with their friends, pretending to be older.
Carried from the frontline, or left lost and never found.

Days, months and years the family waited for confirmation.
An unknown soldier, graves all over the world,
young or old, we will remember them.

24, I have started again

Today I begin again
working back and forward
engaging in poetry.
Necessary to fill in
the empty days.
Yesterday to follow
from now on every day in
order and
uniformly following
routine in
the days to come.
Hard as it is to

obtain different
facts.

All I want is write
poetry.
Reality based and
initiated by
lurking observation.
